Q: Will JELS run on my computer?
As long as your computer equipment meets the minimum requirements listed on the left, then JELS should run on your computer.

Q: What is the maximum number of users that JELS can support?
JELS Standard supports up to 5 simultaneous users, and runs on a Microsoft Access database. JELS Enterprise supports up to approximately 20 simultaneous users. Factors that will influence number of users are your current network performance , computer equipement, amount of memory and total number of projects and stock issues. JELS Enterprise runs on the Microsoft SQL Server data Engine.

Q: Do I have to do a full stock take before I start using JELS?
We recommend that you speak to a JELS consultant, who will be able to advise you. Each company may have their own unique challenges when faced with implementing a stock control system. You may have to make decisions regarding where stock is physically located and stored, and whether you have a staff person will will issue are receive stock from a secure stores. It may be possible to implement your stock control in phases, and pick a few stock items that you will start tracking, so that you can slowly change over to running stock control with JELS.

Q: Do I need training in order to use JELS?
Yes. If you know how to use windows programs, and a mouse you will be able to operate the basic software. You will need a minimum of a approximately 1 to 2 hours hands on training to understand how to use the costing spreadsheet (click here for screen shot), efficiently. You should be able to master job costing, and stock control within a single free training lesson.

Q: Can I teach myself JELS without attending the training?
We are busy developing an e-Learning module that will take you and your staff through the basics of using JELS effectively in your organisation. We highly recommend that you attend the free open days, and take advantage of the JELS consultant's experience. Part of getting the most from the JELS "Magic" often comes with making physical changes to the way you manage your stock, and not just your data.

Q: Do I have to purchase JELS to get free training?
No. If you are wanting to evaluate JELS, then attending free training at an open house day is an excellent way to find out if JELS will benefit your organisation.
